"Gift for Peace" - James House, Hout Bay

To celebrate the centenary of Scouting (1907 - 2007) the World Organisation of the Scout Movement decided that Scouting world wide would present a Gift for Peace to the world. The South African Scout Council recognizes that HIV/AIDS is such a huge issue in South Africa that Gift for Peace projects should revolve around this issue.

Julie Pilkington, the ADC for the Two Oceans District (CW10) then organised and encouraged all the Groups in Two Oceans to work with James House where they have a crèche that looks after babies who are HIV positive, run an adolescent 12 week betterment programme and look after other children who need foster care. 2nd Bergvliet decided to assist James with baby clothes and toys which were collected in February, March and April 2007.

The Cubs and Scouts then presented the collected items to St James house at the end of April 2007. Here are some pictures from James House.
