Syd Blackie Receives the 70 Year Bar for Long Service

Syd 'Hathi' Blackie has assisted the 2nd Bergvliet Cubs for a number of years and this year (2008) sees him being involved in Scouting for 70 years.  Here the Provincial Commissioner, Llewellyn van Aarde presents Hathi with his 70 year bar on behalf of the Chief Scout of South Africa.

After the presentation the Scouts and Scouters sang for "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow"
