Upton Shield 2008

The Upton Shield was held in the City Bowl and the Waterfront. We entered two teams. Kathryn Peart (PL) did very well to come in tied 7th position while Fabio Saporetti (PL) came 23rd out of 58 teams. Well done to all.

Upton Shield 2007

The Upton Shield was held in the Silvermine nature reserve near to the dam.. 2nd Bergvliet again came 2nd which was a great result. Congratulations to Nic Lytwynchuk (PL), Kathryn Peart, Robin Andrews and Robin Molteno. There were 58 teams

Upton Shield 2006

The Upton Shield was a hike from Woodstock up Table Mountain to the Kings Block House and finishing at the Rhodes Memorial. 2nd Bergvliet came 2nd which was a very pleasing result. Congratulations to James Peart (PL), Marc Borchardt, Jay Benson and Christopher Molteno.

Upton Shield 2005

The Upton Shield comprised a walk/hike from Kalk Bay to the Sea Scout Base. 2nd Bergvliet entered two teams and we came 2nd and 16th. Congatulations to the A team lead by Andrew Elston for coming so close to winning.  The B team lead by James Peart did very well by coming in at 16th out of over 40 teams.

Upton Shield 2004

The Upton Shield was held on Table Mountain. We came 10th, 12th and 18th out of 64 teams. Well done to all the participants!

Upton Shield 2003

2nd Bergvliet won the Upton Shield held at Hout Bay in 2003. Congratulations to Charles McMahon (PL) and his Patrol.

In 2002 we came 9th, 14th, 20th and 27th. The competition was held on the lower slopes of Table Mountain above Constantia. In 2001 we came entered three Patrols and came 2nd, 5th and 23rd.
